History:

The review “ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES – production, transport and distribution of electric and thermal energy” was founded in 1968 by the Office for Information and Documentation in Energy (OIDE) within the Ministry of Electric Energy (MEE). Its name was PRODUCTION, TRANSPORT AND DISTRIBUTION OF ELECTRIC AND THERMAL ENERGY. In the first year, the review was issued quarterly. Since 1969 the review has been issued monthly.

In 1974 when ICEMENERG Institute was established through the union of ICENERG and IRME, the former also took over OIDE from MEE which became the Center for Information and Documentation in Energy (CIDE). At the same time, it took over the review editing and printing.

In 1998 when ICEMENERG was separated from RENEL, CIDE became the Office for Documentation in Energy (ODE). In 2003, ICEMENERG Editing House was set up within this office. In 2007, ODE underwent a process of re-organization and became the ICEMENERG Publishing House.

Since1998 the review has been issued in improved graphical conditions (printed on higher quality paper, color covers) and all the papers have got an abstract in Romanian. Since 2004 the contents and the abstracts have been published in two languages: Romanian and English.

In 2005, the Editorial staff decided to change the name of the review. Thus, at the beginning, the syntagm “energy technologies” in small letters has been added to the old title. In 2006, as a result of the fact that the subscribers have received this syntagm well, a new name of the review, namely ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES has been adopted, maintaining the old title as subtitle.      Over its entire existence, the review has been published in A4 format and has had about 40-45 pages per issue. Lately, the issues 7-8 and 11-12, respectively, have been issued in a compact form, having 76-78 pages each, due to holidays and free days at the end of the year. Since 2007, issuing 12 distinct issues per year has been resumed.

The review has been printed entirely at ICEMENERG. Only the color covers are printed by a specialized printing house.
